Mogán: deadline added late — objections to the tourism plan until 2 December

The plan that will reshape Playa de Mogán has been on public display since 28 September, but the Las Palmas provincial gazette printed no deadline for objections at all. On Friday the Dirección General de Ordenación del Territorio y Cohesión Territorial corrected the error and inserted the missing words, “por plazo de DOS MESES” — for a period of two months. On the last day of September there were 976,432 people registered with Spain's social security system in the Canary Islands, more than at any other month-end the body publishes for the islands since January 2006. The high conceals a second figure: on our own reading of the same workbook, the number of contributors grew by 2.84 per cent over a year, against 3.39 per cent for Spain. That puts the islands tenth of 19 territories, behind the Balearics and Valencia. Both statements are true, and both sit in the same table.

Building work at Infecar sends the manga festival to a park and a castle: three-day pass €18

The 15th Festival del Manga de Las Palmas and Comic-Can Gran Canaria open this Friday, 2 October 2026, for the first time in the middle of the island capital. Because the Infecar exhibition centre is closed to the public for building work, the fifteenth edition is split between the Parque de San Telmo and the Museo Castillo de Mata. The three-day pass costs €18 according to the organisers, and children up to six get in free. Nobody has put a figure on how many people the new sites hold.

On Saturday 3 October, from 18:00 to 20:00, the MASDANZA festival holds a masterclass for 12- to 17-year-olds at the Sala Gabriel Rodó in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and it turns the usual prices upside down: dancers pay 20 euros, people watching from a seat pay 5. Both tickets are sold, according to the ticket page, online only; nothing is sold at the hall. Minors have to bring a completed parental authorisation form.
