The weekend highlight: 36th Fuerteventura Book Fair

The 36th Fuerteventura Book Fair takes place from 15 to 18 October 2026 at the Plaza del Palacio de Formación y Congresos in Puerto del Rosario. Admission is free and the programme runs on all three days of the weekend.

Alongside it, the workshop Taller «EnRedArte» de cestería de palma at the Casa de la Cultura de Puerto del Rosario offers an insight into traditional palm weaving, daily from 16:00 to 18:00.

Friday 16 October

On Fuerteventura, the 36th Fuerteventura Book Fair is under way at the Plaza del Palacio de Formación y Congresos in Puerto del Rosario, with free admission. Also in Puerto del Rosario, the workshop Taller «EnRedArte» de cestería de palma takes place at the Casa de la Cultura de Puerto del Rosario, with sessions from 16:00 to 18:00.

In La Oliva on Fuerteventura, the Talleres de artesanía del Cabildo — macramé en La Oliva is running, a macramé workshop within the island programme of twelve craft workshops organised by the Cabildo.

On Lanzarote, the Biblioteca Insular de Lanzarote in Arrecife presents its October programme Programación de octubre de la Biblioteca Insular: «Un libro abierto, un mundo por descubrir» with workshops and literature. The XIV Festival Internacional Palabras al Vuelo continues at various venues across Lanzarote until 18 October.

Saturday 17 October

On Fuerteventura, the Fudenas 2026 mountain bike race sets off on the Recorrido de Corralejo a Morro Jable with 150 km and an integrated 42 km march test. In La Oliva, the VULLKAN Festival for electronic music takes place at the Campo de Fútbol Jonathan Sesma in Corralejo.

On Lanzarote, Aceró presenta Cuadros que suenan presents its show at the Convento de Santo Domingo in Teguise. Also in Teguise, the Acto de conmemoración de la Mujer Rural takes place in the Carpa de las Fiestas de San Rafael.

Sunday 18 October

On Lanzarote, the food festival Al Grano Fest takes place in Teguise, announced for 18 October and centred on rice.

On Fuerteventura, the festive programme of the Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de la Peña del Mar — programa festivo, verbenas y actuaciones begins at the Recinto de fiestas de El Castillo in Caleta de Fuste, Antigua. In Costa Calma, Pájara, the Fiestas de San Marta run from 16 to 20 October.
