What it is
The Canary Islands regional government has launched the second edition of the Bonos Consumo Archipiélago. The concept is straightforward: buy a voucher for €25 and spend €50 at participating local shops. The government covers the difference. In total, nearly 98,000 vouchers are available, funded by three million euros in public investment.
Public sales begin on April 28, 2026. Shop owners can register from April 15 on the platform bonoconsumoarchipielago.com.
What buyers need to know
Each voucher has a face value of €50. The buyer pays €25; the government subsidises the rest. Up to four vouchers can be purchased per island — anyone present on multiple islands can buy four on each. The vouchers are non-transferable, non-refundable and tied to the buyer's ID. They work only for in-store purchases, not online.
Eligible sectors include fashion, electronics, IT, sports, toy shops and DIY supplies, among others. Large department stores, supermarket chains and nationally or internationally operating franchise outlets are excluded.
A valid ID document (DNI or NIE) must be presented at the time of purchase. The vouchers can be combined with any discounts or promotions the shop is running.
What shop owners need to know
Self-employed workers, micro-enterprises and small businesses with a premises open to the public in the Canary Islands can register. Sign-up is through bonoconsumoarchipielago.com and stays open for the entire two-month campaign.
The redemption cap per shop is €5,000 — this limit may be raised if demand warrants it. Reimbursement takes place within 15 days of submitting the supporting documentation via the platform.

Why you should act fast
The first edition of the Bonos Consumo showed that the vouchers sell out quickly. Anyone living on Gran Canaria is competing with other buyers for just over 35,000 vouchers allocated to the island — and the campaign runs for only two months. Wait too long and they will be gone.
The same applies to shop owners: the earlier you register, the sooner your business appears in the list of participating shops, and the more likely voucher holders are to find you.
The platform for businesses is already live: bonoconsumoarchipielago.com. Public sales start on April 28.
