It is the first time in a very long time that Cita's leadership has changed hands. The entire previous Junta de Gobierno has been removed from office. The new Junta de Gobierno consists entirely of owners — large and medium-sized. What this means in practice will depend on the decisions the new team makes in the coming weeks.
Cita faces significant challenges: almost two million euros in outstanding debt, a budget rising 25% in 2026, and units losing value while neighbouring centres like Yumbo grow. The new leadership will need to provide answers.
The new team's first steps will be procedural: official constitution of the Junta, updating bank signatories, and deciding on the continuity of the property administrator. The coming weeks will show what direction the new management takes.
UPDATE — MEETING RESULTS The assembly also voted on the 2025 accounts and the 2026 budget. Both were rejected. This has practical consequences: without an approved budget, the new Junta de Gobierno has no formal basis for routine expenditure. Without an approved balance sheet, the 2025 accounts — which show a deficit of €173,730 — remain without the community's endorsement. The new leadership will need to call an extraordinary general meeting to resolve both issues urgently.
CITA News will continue to report.
