All events in January 2027 — Canary Islands

What defines the month

January in the Canary Islands is marked by a transition from Christmas traditions into music, local fiestas and the first carnival events. The calendar covers all islands, with early January focused on La Gomera, where San Sebastián de La Gomera and Valle Gran Rey hold Reyes-related holidays, while Fuerteventura observes New Year's Day across its municipalities.

From mid-January the International Music Festival of the Canary Islands reaches La Graciosa and El Hierro, and Fuerteventura begins a series of patron saint festivities in Antigua and Betancuria. The month closes with the opening of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival and the start of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival programme, including children's murgas and rondallas competitions.
