What changes for holidaymakers and residents?
For three days, El Hierro becomes a stage for a culture festival. The programme is spread across Valverde, El Pinar and La Frontera, according to the Cabildo de El Hierro.
Anyone coming from the neighbouring islands must plan a ferry crossing. The official announcement mentions no special travel requirements or shuttle services.
Which artists and projects are confirmed?
26 projects covering music, workshops, talks and visual art are on the programme. The musical line-up includes Zumurrud, an emerging band specialising in contemporary jazz.
The monthly Vaalbará programme from Radio Relativa brings DJs and producers from the Canary archipelago together. An experimental tribute to the traditional herreñan drum is also planned.
The artist Bejo is set to combine music, drawings and audiovisual work. The Canarian artist duo CNSFN+ is creating the third mural of a local mural trail in El Pinar.
The talks come under the heading "Origins, heritage and identity". Wladimiro Rodríguez Brito speaks about environmental culture and the farming population.
How much does admission cost?
Tickets and festival packages are available in advance.
Whether individual events are free or require registration therefore cannot be verified. The full programme is expected to be made available through the event website lavacircular.com and the Instagram account @lavacircular.
Where exactly do the events take place?
The Cabildo announcement does not publish specific times and venues for each programme item. The locations are spread across the three municipalities of Valverde, El Pinar and La Frontera.
The island's tourism portal confirms the use of all three municipalities, but gives a different period of 6 to 8 November. This date discrepancy has not been resolved.
Who organises the festival?
The main sponsor is the Cabildo de El Hierro through its culture department, led by Rubén Armiche. The project is organised by Hisla Asociación Cultural.
Lava Circular works as an exhibition capsule with Veintinueve Trece, a meeting for photography and visual art on Lanzarote. This partnership brings two visual artists from Lanzarote into the programme.
What should visitors do before travelling?
The final daily schedule, times, exact addresses and ticket conditions remain open. Possible changes due to weather or capacity are also not ruled out.
Before travelling, visitors should check the full programme directly with the organiser. The date discrepancy between the Cabildo announcement and the tourism portal also needs to be clarified.
