What holidaymakers and residents need to know now
The Corralejo Kitefest 2026 is announced for Monday 9 November to Sunday 15 November 2026, according to the Fuertemovida events calendar. The public kite displays are expected to be free and accessible without reservation.
No different prices or participation conditions are currently published for residents or foreign nationals living in Fuerteventura. As things stand, visitors can attend the public displays without a ticket.
The organiser's calendar lists most individual days as “still to be confirmed”. Changes are possible, as Fuertemovida expressly states.
Where the festival takes place
The main venue is the Grandes Playas de Corralejo in the Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park. Individual activities are planned for El Cotillo, as indicated in the events calendar.
The main event locations are outside the town centre, at the dunes and beaches. The calendar does not yet confirm shuttle buses, additional parking, road closures or special rules for staying in the natural park.
Corralejo is in the north of Fuerteventura and is connected by road to other parts of the island.
What the programme is expected to offer
Traditional and large-format kites, acrobatic flying, precision displays, family activities and workshops are planned. According to Fuertemovida, the festival began in 1987 as a gathering of kite-flying enthusiasts and has developed into an international event.
The calendar sets 9 November as the planned start in Corralejo, without a confirmed time. Further activities are planned for 10 and 11 November in Corralejo and La Oliva respectively.
On 12 November, a special flying and exhibition unit is due to take place in El Cotillo. The main days at the Grandes Playas are planned for 13 to 15 November; times and specific programme items remain open.
Getting there, parking and traffic
For travel on days with high visitor numbers, Fuertemovida recommends checking traffic conditions, parking options and public transport in advance. No binding parking arrangement or special timetable has been published for 2026.
The events calendar does not yet confirm any additional parking or shuttle buses. Visitors should therefore allow extra time and be prepared for conditions at the dunes and beaches.
Those travelling from the south of Fuerteventura can reach Corralejo via the island road.
What remains open
According to the events calendar, final daily times, specific stages, beach sections and access points remain open in particular. Prices or registration requirements for workshops have also not been published.
Traffic, parking and security measures, as well as weather-related changes or cancellations, are equally unclear. According to Fuertemovida, the wind makes the Grandes Playas a suitable location, but it can also lead to programme changes.
Binding information must be checked once published by the Ayuntamiento de La Oliva, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura or official tourism bodies.
What to do next
Until an official programme is published, the events calendar remains the authoritative source for the announcement. However, as the research shows, it is not a published official implementation regulation.
For children's or workshop activities, it is not yet clear whether registration, age limits or fees apply. Visitors should check the official channels of the Ayuntamiento de La Oliva and the organiser before travelling.
The main days of 13 to 15 November 2026 are noted as the date. Once times and locations are confirmed, the festival will be easier for holidaymakers and residents to plan.
