What is the Frontón King 2026?

The world titles are at stake from 17 to 31 October 2026 in El Frontón, Gáldar. It is the final event of the IBC World Tour, with titles going to the open men and the juniors.

The Frontón King is the fourteenth edition of the international bodyboarding competition. The Ayuntamiento de Gáldar describes it as an event that once again puts Gáldar at the centre of world bodyboarding.

128 athletes from 15 countries are registered. Around 70 percent of participants come from abroad, according to the Ayuntamiento de Gáldar.

The entry list is completely full. According to the information available, there are no further starting places.

When does the surfing take place?

Of 15 days, only six become competition days. The organisation decides which ones based on swell, wind and tides.

The daily calls are announced at the venue and published through the official IBC and Frontón King social media channels; confirmation the day before through an official app is not documented. According to the Ayuntamiento de Gáldar, the app also shows start order, live results and a site plan with access points, car parks, viewpoints and services.

On competition days, the site opens at 08:00. The exact times of the heats depend on the daily confirmation.

The app is also available in English. The organisers advise downloading it before travelling because mobile reception at the cliff is weak.

How much does entry cost?

According to Frontón King, the regular music events are free.

The closing party on 31 October from 17:00 to 00:00 costs 15 euros. The price includes two beers or one drink, as the organisers state.

The VIP zone costs 30 euros. Accredited competitors have free access; the Ayuntamiento de Gáldar gives no information on parking fees or shuttle buses.

On Saturday 14 November 2026, Jorge Ávila follows at the same venue with "Todo pa' última hora". His stand-up comedy deals with everyday situations, spontaneous decisions and putting things off until the last moment.

According to the ticket portal, tickets are still available for this show from 20 euros. No sold-out notice has been issued.

How do I get to the Centro Cultural Guaires?

The Centro Cultural Guaires is at Calle Guaires 29 in Gáldar. Both comedy nights start at 20:00 and, according to the programme, run until 22:00.

For tickets and event information, the town generally refers people to entradas.galdar.es and the Ayuntamiento's cultural channels. Anyone coming from the south of Gran Canaria takes the GC-2 to Gáldar.

From Maspalomas, the drive takes about an hour depending on traffic. Public transport also runs to Gáldar, but the Ayuntamiento does not give specific connections.

Anyone travelling by bus should check the evening return journey in advance. Otherwise you may find yourself without a bus after the show.

What is still open?

The Ayuntamiento de Gáldar has not published anything on ticket deadlines, box office sales or refund rules for the comedy shows. No waiting list is mentioned for the sold-out show by Joaquín Caserza either.

For the Frontón King, reliable information on public transport, parking rules and possible beach access restrictions is missing. The official tourist brochure from Turismo de Gran Canaria recommends installing the app before travelling.

There are no price comparisons with the previous year or details of public subsidies. The town has so far given no figures on budget or expected visitor numbers.

Anyone wanting to watch the competitions live should follow the daily confirmation through the official channels. That is the only way to find out in time which of the six competition days are activated.
