What is on in La Laguna from 4 December?
On Friday 4 December 2026, La Laguna kicks off two major events at once. The 21st Gospel Canarias Fest moves into the Teatro Leal, while the K42 Canarias Anaga Maratón heads for the Anaga mountains.
Both take place in the same municipality in the north of Tenerife, far from the hotels in the south. Visitors coming from a resort should set aside a whole evening or a whole weekend.
The organisers have not yet published anything confirmed about getting there. Our research found no parking advice and no road closures, and there is no notice for roads or hiking trails in Anaga either.
Our tip is to check tickets, start times and access routes on the organisers’ own sites shortly before the event. That matters all the more because event listings state their details as subject to change.
When and where does the Gospel Canarias Fest take place?
According to the published programme, the 21st Gospel Canarias Fest runs from 4 to 7 December 2026 at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna. There is one concert a day, each starting at 20:00.
Cinque Cullar, a conductor, composer and educator, is the focus. He founded the International Peace Troupe and still leads it today.
The festival website describes the ensemble as a vocal group with great stage energy. Its repertoire ranges from traditional gospel and spirituals to modern hymns.
The website also names three groups: Naturally, Gospel Shine Voices and the Canarias Gospel Choir. Which act plays on which night, and whether Cullar sings on all four evenings, is not confirmed.
How much does the Gospel Fest cost?
A search snippet gives ticket prices of 12, 22 and 28 euros.
The festival website does not mention advance sales either. Anyone in Tenerife in December should look for tickets through the festival’s own site.
The snippet lists the Gobierno de Canarias (Canary Islands government), the Cabildo de Tenerife (island government) and the Ayuntamiento de La Laguna (town council) as sponsors. The documents do not say who organises the festival or how large the budget is.
Last year’s edition ran from 5 to 7 December 2025 at the Teatro Leal, with the Charleston Gospel Choir. A concert followed on 13 December at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus on Gran Canaria; for 2026, only La Laguna is confirmed.
How does the K42 Canarias Anaga Maratón work?
The K42 Canarias Anaga Maratón takes place from 4 to 6 December 2026 in the Anaga biosphere reserve. Runners can choose K42, K30, K21, K12 or the K-Vertical.
According to the registration page, the route passes Cruz del Carmen, La Goleta and Chinamada. The route details give the K-Vertical 3.85 kilometres of climbing and the K12 “Old Peak” 12.6 kilometres.
The Ayuntamiento de San Cristóbal de La Laguna, its sports department OAD (Organismo Autónomo de Deportes) and Gesport Canarias organise the race. So the town hall backs the event itself.
Entry fees, the registration deadline, the days for each race and start times are not confirmed for 2026. An older report on an earlier edition names the Plaza del Cristo in La Laguna as start and finish for several races, with all 2,000 places sold out.
Which concerts are on in November?
Sharif and Rapsusklei play on Friday 6 November 2026 at the Aguere Espacio Cultural in La Laguna. According to the concert listing, tickets cost 22 euros.
They perform songs from their joint album “La música de los días rotos” as part of the “El Breve Huracán” tour. Advance tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster, El Corte Inglés, Entradas.com and Fever, but the start time and doors opening are not confirmed.
Céro follows on Sunday 22 November at the same venue with urban pop. A search snippet gives 20:30 and tickets from 55 euros, but this is not confirmed.
For the Riot Grrrl Day, the sources contradict each other: the brief gives 7 November, while one listing gives 21 and 22 November at the Aguere. For now it is open which date is right; the programme and price are missing altogether.
