What can visitors expect on 31 October?
Free make-up tents open on Plaza del Adelantado from 17:00. Anyone who wants to can be turned into a zombie there, or simply arrive already in costume.
Food and drink stalls and other activities will also be on offer. The Ayuntamiento de La Laguna has not published prices for food and drink.
The zombie cavalcade sets off from Plaza del Adelantado at 20:00. The route follows Calle Obispo Rey Redondo to Plaza de la Concepción and then returns along Calle Herradores.
After the parade, competitions follow in three categories: Mejor Zombie for characterisation, Mejor Caminante for performance and Mejor Grupo for groups. DJ NAGOBA then plays electronic music and film soundtracks.
Who organises the Zombie Walk?
The event is part of the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera. The main sponsor is the Ayuntamiento de La Laguna, represented by its culture department.
The Zombie Walk was presented by mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, festival co-director Daniel Fumero, deputy director Vanesa Bocanegra and Iván Pérez, president of La Laguna Zona Comercial.
Actor and comedian Aarón Gómez returns as host. The Banda de Música de Tejina and other music groups will accompany the parade.
The council describes the Zombie Walk as a consolidated activity among the people of La Laguna and a draw for visitors from elsewhere. The event is linked to the eve of Todos los Santos.
How much does it cost to take part?
The event is free, open to all ages and no advance registration is required. Minors need consent from a legal guardian to use the make-up service.
No professional costume or acting experience is needed. Anyone who wants to can be made up as a zombie free of charge from 17:00.
The food and drink offer has been announced, but no prices have been published. The council has also not yet released the competition entry conditions.
How do visitors get to La Laguna?
The route runs through the historic centre of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
According to the La Laguna council, no specific road closures, parking bans or public transport changes have been confirmed for the Zombie Walk. Anyone travelling from the south should allow extra time on 31 October.
Plaza del Adelantado lies in the heart of the old town and is reachable on foot from the pedestrian zone. Public car parks are located on the edge of the historic core.
What is still open?
A full timetable and details of possible traffic measures have not yet been published. The competition entry conditions and prices for food and drink are also missing.
The council gives no visitor numbers from previous years and no comparative data with other islands or regions. A budget or cost breakdown has also not been published.
The next confirmed date is 31 October 2026, with the pre-programme from 17:00 and the parade starting at 20:00. The Isla Calavera festival then follows from 6 to 15 November 2026.
