What is Los Finaos?
Los Finaos is a Canarian tradition for remembering the deceased, usually observed at the end of October or around All Saints. The event in Teguise aims to pass on customs to younger generations and bring together families, residents and visitors.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, said according to the council statement: "Los Finaos are part of our history and the traditions we have inherited from our elders." She said it is important that new generations learn how these days were observed in the Canary Islands.
