Some concerts stay with you because everything lines up: warm evening air, the sea a few steps away, soul and funk on stage. That is exactly what the Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival stands for, long a fixture of summer in southern Gran Canaria.

2026 is a little more festive: it is the tenth edition. For three evenings the Playa de San Agustín turns into an open-air stage — and it costs nothing to get in.

What to expect

The heart of it is the main stage right on the beach, where the concerts start in the evening. There is also a smaller stage for up-and-coming artists and a relaxed DJ chill-out zone. If you get hungry, food trucks serve local and international dishes for mostly €8 to €12.

When and where

The festival runs from 17 to 19 July 2026 at Playa de San Agustín in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The beach is easy to reach in the island's south, between Playa del Inglés and the centre of San Agustín.

Tip Entry is free and there are no assigned seats. Come a little early, grab a towel or mat and find a good spot in the sand while the sun is still low.

Ten years of soul

What began as an idea has become a fixed date. Over the years well-known names have played the stage, among them Solomon Burke Jr. and Joss Stone. The festival was recently presented at the FITUR tourism fair and promoted in London — a sign that southern Gran Canaria wants to be more than just sun and sand.

Good to know

The line-up is usually revealed bit by bit between May and early July. The evening is family-friendly either way: plenty of space, music for many tastes and the sea as a backdrop.

Before you go Programme and times can change at short notice. It is always worth checking the organisers' official channels before setting off.
