Which coworking spaces are there in Tenerife?

One officially listed provider is Coworking Nomad in the centre of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

According to the official entry by the Canary Islands Government, the space offers a dedicated desk and storage per workstation. A meeting room is available, and an alarm system secures the premises.

For other coworking spaces, the available official sources do not contain sufficiently verified details on names, prices, opening hours and internet speeds. According to industry reports, the offering is concentrated in Santa Cruz/La Laguna, the north around Puerto de la Cruz and the south around Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos and El Médano.

The official entry does not list reliably confirmed day, weekly or monthly prices and no current opening hours for Coworking Nomad. These details should be requested directly from the provider.

How good is the internet in Tenerife?

Coworking Nomad lists a fibre-optic connection. The actual speed can vary depending on usage, Wi-Fi, device and tariff.

For longer stays, accommodation with expressly confirmed Wi-Fi and measured speed is recommended. A personal mobile tariff or a local SIM or eSIM serves as a backup option.

In the larger towns, 300 Mbit/s connections are quoted at around 30–50 euros per month, according to industry sources. These prices come from private sources and can change at short notice.

Anyone who depends on stable connections should ask about working hours, access systems, phone booths and meeting rooms before booking. A plan for power cuts or short-term network disruptions is part of the preparation.

Which areas are suitable for remote work?

The south is significantly drier and warmer, according to AEMET climate normals 1981–2010. At the Tenerife Sur Aeropuerto station, the mean temperature is 18.4 °C in January and 24.7 °C in August.

Annual precipitation in the south is 132 mm, with June and July recording no measurable rainfall on average.

The north is cooler and wetter. At the Tenerife Norte Aeropuerto station, the mean temperature is 13.1 °C in January and 21.2 °C in August, with annual precipitation of 520 mm.

For remote work trips, April to June as well as September and October are often a balanced period between warmth and lower peak-season pressure. This assessment is derived from the AEMET normals and is not a weather forecast.

What do coworking and living in Tenerife cost?

Coworking day passes in 2026 mostly cost around 15–20 euros, according to industry reports, with monthly places often at 100–220 euros. Private offices and fixed desks can be considerably more expensive.

The comfortable overall budget is roughly 1,475–2,165 euros in the north and in Santa Cruz, and up to around 2,600 euros in the south. Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos are often more expensive for accommodation and coworking than the north and the capital.

The Canary Islands are not part of the Spanish VAT system for tax purposes. Instead of IVA, IGIC generally applies, with a standard rate of 7 percent.

However, this does not mean that every coworking invoice or every activity is automatically taxed at 7 percent. Tax, social security and registration obligations should be clarified individually with a Spanish specialist adviser.

What rules apply to digital nomads?

EU citizens are generally allowed to stay and work in Spain. Non-EU remote workers need an appropriate permit depending on their activity and length of stay, in particular the Spanish digital nomad visa.

Additional protection rules apply to nature. In Teide National Park and other protected areas, certain paths, summit areas and activities may require prior reservation or permission.

A permit is required for the final section to the Teide summit. The Masca Gorge may only be visited with a reservation, the prescribed transport and suitable closed footwear.

Fires are only permitted in designated areas and within approved periods. Official information and reservation systems should be checked before every excursion.

What alternatives to coworking are there?

Coliving accommodation with an integrated workspace is practical for short stays, but often more expensive than a normal flat. Serviced offices or private offices are suitable for teams, confidential conversations and longer projects.

Libraries and municipal study spaces exist in Santa Cruz, La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz. Hotel and aparthotel workspaces are an option, provided day guests are admitted.

Home office with a dedicated fibre-optic line is possible in the larger towns. Cafés are only suitable for short, low-confidentiality work sessions, as power, a stable connection and a quiet workspace are not guaranteed.

The market is seasonal: January to March are considered strong winter months, and good accommodation and coworking offers are booked up early. This assessment comes from private industry reports and is not official statistics.
