What exactly is the Lagotlón?
The Lagotlón is an aquathlon, a race that combines swimming and running. According to FECANTRI, it is open to minors and adults.
The Federación Canaria de Triatlón (FECANTRI), the Canary Islands triathlon federation, lists the race in its calendar. The provisional calendar gives 7 November 2026 as the date in Puerto de la Cruz.
Where and when does the race take place?
The Lagotlón returns to the Complejo Turístico Costa Martiánez on Saturday, 7 November 2026. The complex sits in Puerto de la Cruz, in the north of Tenerife.
The venue is a well-known seawater pool complex. FECANTRI confirms that it will host the event again.
Who can take part?
According to FECANTRI, there are categories for minors, adults, pairs, relay teams and Paralympic athletes. The available information does not show the exact age groups or distances.
Required documents have not been published either. The same goes for any deadlines by nationality or place of residence.
How do I enter?
Registration for the 2026 edition has opened, according to FECANTRI. The notice we found gives neither an entry deadline nor participation fees.
FECANTRI refers in its notice to the full race details and an entry portal, and these are the sources to trust. Anyone interested should check the official FECANTRI website.
What is still open?
Nobody has yet verified the prizes, exact distances, age limits, participant cap, closing date, schedule, safety rules or possible closures. There is also no word on road closures.
Changes to access at Costa Martiánez and restrictions for bathers and tourists are equally unclear. Visitors should check locally.
How does the Lagotlón differ from the Muelletlón?
The Lagotlón is not the Muelletlón Acuatlón Puerto de la Cruz, so do not mix them up. That other race had been announced for 26 and 27 September 2026.
The Muelletlón includes separate children's and adult events. The Lagotlón, by contrast, is scheduled for 7 November 2026.
