What changes for holidaymakers and residents in the south?
The fiestas take place in Vecindario, the largest town in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The main stages are the Plaza de San Rafael, the Plaza de Los Algodoneros, the Avenida de Canarias and the Recinto Ferial. Visitors travelling from holiday areas such as Playa del Inglés or Maspalomas can reach Vecindario via the GC-1 motorway heading north.
The programme gives no ticket prices. According to Canarias7, no registration requirements, special rules for foreigners or tourists, or explicitly announced road closures have been published either. Visitors should therefore check the municipality's website, santaluciagc.com, before travelling.
The events are spread over more than two weeks. For visitors from the resort areas, that means anyone heading to Vecindario for just one evening will find a concert, a verbena or another event almost every day. The biggest concerts are mainly at weekends.
Which concerts and highlights are still to come?
On Saturday 17 October, the 35th San Rafael town race takes place at 10:00 on the pedestrianised Avenida de Canarias. At 20:15, the second Romero and second Romera Mayor will be chosen. Cristina Ramos and Benito Cabrera provide the music for the election on the Plaza de San Rafael.
On Sunday 18 October, classic cars, motorbikes and lorries go on display from 09:00. At 20:00, "Noches de Verbena" begins with Bejeque, Pepe Benavente and Delioma Rodríguez on the Plaza de San Rafael.
On Thursday 22 October, there is a comedy evening with Antonia San Juan and Matías Alonso. On Saturday 24 October, the offering procession and Romería to San Rafael starts at 18:30 at the Cruce de Sardina. A pyromusical display follows at midnight.
On Sunday 25 October, a livestock fair and a towing competition are planned. At 20:00, Braulio performs at the Recinto Ferial. The programme lists Los Coquillos with their Gira 35 aniversario at 22:00. The day of the week and date could not be confirmed with certainty.
What happens on the closing weekend?
On Saturday 31 October, a domino tournament and further Finaos events are on the programme. There are also performances by Kilian Viera and El Último que cierre. The Noche de Finaos takes place on Friday 30 October in several neighbourhoods.
On Sunday 1 November, the fiestas end with a family day and the San Rafael Latino Festival. At 20:00, the Paulina Flamenco ballet performs on the Plaza de San Rafael. Shaila Dúrcal then gives the closing concert, also on the Plaza de San Rafael.
For visitors from the holiday areas, the closing weekend is a possible option for a day trip. However, the municipality has not published any dedicated park-and-ride facilities or shuttle buses. Anyone arriving by car should allow time to find parking.
How did the fiestas begin?
The fiestas began on Friday 16 October at 18:30 with a rosary. A Eucharist followed at 19:00. At 19:45, the municipality officially opened the patronal fiestas with a flag-raising and bell-ringing at the parish church of San Rafael.

This was followed by a tribute to Juan Luis Guerra at 22:30, as well as performances by Los Lola at midnight and La Última Llave at 01:30 at the Recinto Ferial. The San Rafael 2026 photography competition runs until 3 November at 23:59.
What remains open?
The municipality refers visitors to its website santaluciagc.com for the full programme. Based on the available information, possible changes to times, traffic measures, security requirements and individual artist appearances remain open.
The sources give no ticket prices and no municipal budget. There is also no information on transport, special bus services or parking. Visitors should consult the municipality's official website before travelling.
The organisers describe the fiestas as a programme for all audiences. The more than 50 activities include concerts, verbenas, comedy, children's activities, sports competitions, exhibitions, neighbourhood gatherings and the traditional Romería Ofrenda a San Rafael.
