What changes for visitors and residents?

The car park behind the Centro de Salud (health centre) in Cabo Blanco has been shut since 07:00 on 2 November. The Ayuntamiento de Arona (town council) keeps it closed until 14:00 on 10 November because fairground rides are going up there.

Parking and driving are banned on c/ Tábano, c/ Ernesto Castro Díaz and c/ La Orilla. Only emergency services and security forces are exempt.

The traffic notice names only streets around the festival ground in Cabo Blanco. It does not mention the coastal resorts and sets no rule for holiday areas in the south.

If your car is still in the closed area, it has to go. The Policía Local (local police) can help on 092 or 922 725 562, though the council names no alternative car parks.

Which streets are closed, and when?

A second ban starts at 15:00 on Friday 6 November and covers parking and driving on three street sections. It runs until the events end on 9 November.

One section is c/ La Orilla between c/ Ernesto Castro Díaz and c/ Lemuria. Another is c/ Ernesto Castro Díaz between c/ Tábano and c/ La Orilla, and the third is c/ Tábano between c/ Lemuria and c/ Ernesto Castro Díaz.

On Sunday 8 November the procession route joins the list: no parking from 16:00 and no driving from 18:00, both until the procession ends. According to the programme, the procession itself starts at 21:00.

The procession leaves the parish church along c/ Plaza de la Iglesia, c/ El Lomito, c/ Vista Martín and av. San Martín de Porres. It returns to the church via c/ de la Iglesia.

What is on the fiesta programme?

According to the council programme, the Fiestas de San Martín de Porres run until Sunday 8 November. The council notes that the programme may change, and no cancellation has been published.

On Friday 6 November the fair opens at 18:00 at the Recinto Ferial (festival ground). Son Sin Límite and Malibú Band play for dancing from 22:00 to 03:00.

On Saturday 7 November the fair again opens at 18:00. Freddy Martín and the orchestras Tropin and Wamampy play from 22:00 to 04:00.

The last day, Sunday 8 November, starts early, with the fair opening at 15:00. Orquesta Saoco plays, and there are bouncy castles.

High mass follows at 20:00 in the Parroquia San Martín de Porres (parish church), then the procession with fireworks at 21:00. The programme has Orquesta Pasión Gomera playing at the festival ground from 20:00 to 00:00, which overlaps with the mass and the procession.

What does a visit cost, and how do you get there?

The programme lists no admission prices or tickets, and it does not say whether entry is free. The citizen information line answers questions on 010 or 922 761 600.

According to the programme, the Recinto Ferial is on the square behind the health centre. Neither the programme nor the traffic notice gives a street address, not even for the parish church.

Free shuttle buses appear in neither document. Visitors should expect some streets around the festival ground to be closed until 9 November.

What is still unclear?

The dates do not quite match: the bans run until 9 and 10 November, but the programme ends on 8 November. It closes with the note Fin de las fiestas (end of the fiestas) and gives no time.

Whether the events from 2 to 5 November took place as announced is not confirmed. The programme is only an announcement.

The closure of the car park behind the health centre ends at 14:00 on 10 November. Until then, the council's bans apply.
