What is on over the weekend of 7 and 8 November?

There is no concert of the saxophone meeting in Los Llanos de Aridane on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026. No programme for the seventh edition is known for those two days.

Anyone reading “5 to 8 November” is seeing old dates from 2025. The Ayuntamiento (town council) announced the sixth edition on 4 November that year, and the weekdays Wednesday 5 and Friday 7 fit 2025.

If you live or holiday elsewhere on La Palma, it is better to postpone any trip planned for this weekend. The first date of the seventh edition is Monday 9 November.

What is on the programme from 9 to 14 November?

The masterclasses run daily from Monday 9 to Saturday 14 November, 15:00 to 18:00, at the Espacio Cultural El Secadero. Kike Perdomo will teach them.

The opening concert takes place on Wednesday 11 November at the Real Sociedad Aridane and brings the premiere of the Cuarteto ESTELAR. The organisers give 20:00, while another report says 20:30.

The charity concert Unas Notas de Esperanza follows on Thursday 12 November at the centre of the Asociación Niños Especiales de La Palma (NEP) in Jedey. The organisers give 17:00, while another report gives no time.

The closing concert on Saturday 14 November brings the Saxophone Ensemble & Orchestra with all participants to the Real 21 Espacio Cultural. According to the organisers, it starts at 20:00 and is also a charity concert.

What does the meeting cost, and how do you register?

The classes cost registered participants nothing. According to the organisers, the meeting is open to students, amateurs and professionals.

You register by email to info@eisaxlapalma.es. The message should give your name, address, telephone number, accommodation needs and instrument, or say that you only want to listen.

The email should also mention whether you will join the flashmob and the charity activities. No registration deadline is known.

Up to Saturday, no admission price or ticket system can be found for the concerts. The organisers call them charity concerts, and the proceeds go to Unas Notas de Esperanza.

Nobody has yet published street addresses for the four venues, nor details on travel, parking, free buses or road closures. If you plan to come, ask the organisers for the address and time in advance.

Why do the edition numbers and dates contradict each other?

For the organisers, 2026 is the seventh edition and 2025 was the sixth. It ran from 5 to 8 November 2025 with the Cuarteto Papandopulo.

On Friday 7 November 2025, the Papandopulo Kvartet from Croatia played at 20:00 at the Espacio Cultural El Secadero. The closing concert with the masterclass participants followed on Saturday 8 November 2025 in the Parque Antonio Gómez Felipe.

The fifth edition ran from 5 to 8 December 2024, according to the Canary Islands broadcaster. No independent confirmation of the organisers’ count can be found.

Who is behind the meeting?

Anne-Theilke Grabow directs the meeting, and José Fco. Climent coordinates it and conducts the ensemble. The legal body behind it is the Asociación Cultural Encuentro de Saxofón La Palma.

The Ayuntamiento de Los Llanos de Aridane is listed as a sponsor. How much money flows is unclear, as neither the funding amount nor the budget has been published.

The meeting began in December 2020 and, according to a 2022 description, is meant to make up for the island’s lack of higher music training. Its first edition brought together saxophonists from all the Canary Islands, including Misato Hanawa, Kike Perdomo and Orestes de Armas.

The volcanic eruption of September 2021 forced cancellations. The second eiSAXional made up the activities from 22 to 24 April 2022, with free admission and donations for those affected.

When does the second part of the meeting follow?

According to the organisers, the premiere of PRISTINE follows in January 2027, a saxophone duo with live painting. Manuel Padula of the Italian duo Lumière and Anne-Theilke Grabow will play.

A masterclass with Padula is also planned, but date and venue are not yet fixed. The organisers have reasons for splitting the meeting that have nothing to do with the organisation.
