What exactly is TriJazz?

TriJazz is a new concert series from the Cabildo de La Palma, the island government, devoted entirely to jazz in trio format. The first edition presents three groups, each with its own style and background.

Miriam Perestelo, councillor for culture and heritage, said the series was intended to broaden the island's cultural programme, according to the Cabildo. Audiences should get to know different ways of interpreting jazz.

When and where do the concerts take place?

Salitres opens the series on Saturday 31 October 2026 at 20:00 at the Museo de Arte in Santa Cruz de La Palma. The band kicks off the programme.

On Friday 6 November 2026, Maravijazz plays at 20:00 at the Museo Arqueológico Benahoarita in Los Llanos de Aridane. The Marta Bautista Trio closes the series on Saturday 14 November 2026 at 20:00, again at the Museo de Arte in Santa Cruz de La Palma.

Who is on stage?

Maravijazz is led by pianist Augusto Báez, and according to the Cabildo the group includes musicians with long experience in the Canarian jazz scene. The group performs on 6 November in Los Llanos de Aridane.

The Marta Bautista Trio features Marta Bautista, Carla Vega and Tanausú Santana. It blends jazz with other musical influences and has tributes to great female voices of the genre in its repertoire.

What does this mean for visitors and residents?

The concerts are spread across two municipalities, and according to Miriam Perestelo the island's cultural venues serve as stages for live music. Anyone living or holidaying in the south of the island will have to travel to Santa Cruz de La Palma or Los Llanos de Aridane.

According to El Faro de La Palma, the Cabildo de La Palma has not published ticket prices, a ticketing platform or a reservation requirement for TriJazz. Details on seating capacity, accessibility and parking are also missing from the announcement.

What is still open?

Visitor numbers or comparisons with earlier jazz series are not documented either.

The Cabildo does not say whether tickets are needed for the concerts on 31 October, 6 November and 14 November 2026, or whether admission is free. Anyone planning to attend should ask the Cabildo or the museums in advance.
