What exactly is the 5K Beach Run?

The 5K Beach Run is one of four races in the Lanzarote International Running Challenge, which Club La Santa is holding from 22 to 25 November 2026. The beach run takes place on Tuesday, 24 November 2026 at 09:00.

The start and finish are at Los Pocillos beach in Puerto del Carmen. According to the organiser, participants run two laps on soft sand, covering a total of 5 kilometres. The time limit is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Club La Santa is providing buses to take participants to the beach. The organiser's page does not give specific departure times. No detailed course map has been published either.

How do I register?

Registration is online only, through Club La Santa. The closing date is 16 November 2026 at 12:00 CET, which is 11:00 local time in the Canary Islands.

Registration will close earlier if all places are taken. Club La Santa explicitly points out that registration is not possible at the venue. Early booking is recommended.

For team entries, each member must first register individually online. The team captain then confirms the team name and full names of all members by email to [email protected].

What does it cost to take part?

From 29 September 2026, the following prices apply according to the Canarian events listing: 40.70 euros for one race, 85.80 euros for two, 104.50 euros for three and 124.30 euros for all four races.

Anyone registering for at least one of the four Challenge races receives free access to the Night Run on Saturday, 21 November 2026. Race packs will be handed out that day from 14:00 to 18:00 at the Club La Santa square.

The organiser's details do not mention any different entry fee based on place of residence and no special rule for foreign nationals. The same online deadlines, prices and the 90-minute limit apply to all participants.

What rules apply to cancellation and deferral?

The checked page only confirms a 100 per cent refund for additional purchases up to 21 October 2026.

Anyone who defers their start forfeits a partial refund. The deferral can only be used once.

What does the full Running Challenge include?

The Lanzarote International Running Challenge comprises four races on four consecutive days. Alongside the 5K Beach Run, these are the Classic Road Run, the Ridge Run over 13 km and La Vuelta de Tinajo over 21 km.

The first three races start at 09:00, while the half marathon on 25 November begins at 08:00. The other three races start and finish at Club La Santa in Tinajo.

The prize ceremonies begin at 19:00 on the first three race days and at 20:30 on the final day. Anyone who finishes all four races receives a Challenge medal, and all participants receive a race T-shirt.

What is still open?
