Arrecife en Vivo 2026: Free Concerts on Four Stages in Lanzarote

Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote, turns into an open-air stage again this September and October. Arrecife en Vivo returns on six dates: 5, 18 and 25 September, then 2, 9 and 10 October. Admission is free, the music happens outdoors, and the audience walks between stages instead of being penned into a festival site.

According to La Voz Canaria, this edition brings around 30 free concerts spread across four stages in the historic centre. Here is what the sources actually confirm — and where the published figures still disagree.

A roaming city festival, not a fenced field

Arrecife en Vivo is not a conventional festival with wristbands, fences and a campsite. The idea, pursued for roughly thirteen years according to Ruta 66, is to take music out of the venues and into the street. The stages stand where the city already lives: beside the lagoon, on the quay, on the main square.

For visitors that means an unusual kind of freedom. You arrive, catch a set, walk a few hundred metres, eat something, and the next band is already playing. If you only have half an hour, you take half an hour with you. If you want to stay, you stay until midnight. That permeability between concert and evening stroll is exactly what makes the format work.

The six dates and what is confirmed so far

The programme runs across six days. It opens on Friday 5 September at Marina Lanzarote with a day devoted entirely to the island's own talent: according to Diario de Lanzarote, the AEV Channel gala there features Toti Sanz, 15 Feet Underground, Los Callaos, Sao and Kardomillo, among others.

For the remaining dates, Diario de Lanzarote and Nuebo list the following names: on 18 September Hermana Furia, The Rapants, Repion and Ultraligera; on 25 September The Anger Price, MFC Chicken, Alfredo Piedrafita and Chambao; on 2 October Gyoza, Maria Iskariot, Def Con Dos and Evaristo; on 9 October Vera Fauna, O'Funk'illo and M-Clan. For the closing day on 10 October, the reports we consulted carry no complete list of names; La Voz Canaria only says the morning is to be dedicated to the island's emerging artists.

Stylistically, the reported range runs from punk and rock through mestizo and pop to funk and electronic music.

The official programme page also lists one date for 2026 that has already passed: the Radio 3 gala "Canariedad Suprema" at the Recova Municipal on 17 July.

Four stages, about two kilometres on foot

The four venues sit in the historic core of Arrecife and are linked by a pedestrian route of roughly two kilometres: Plaza de la Constitución, universally known as La Plazuela, the Charco de San Ginés, Marina Lanzarote and the Muelle de Cruceros, the cruise quay.

The walk itself is part of the experience. The Charco de San Ginés is the old saltwater lagoon in the middle of town, ringed by whitewashed fishermen's houses; La Plazuela is the busy square in front of the church of San Ginés. Only a few minutes separate one stage from the next, on level ground with no climbs. You do not need a car in the centre on these evenings — it is more of a hindrance than a help.

Friday 25 September, hour by hour

The second street-parade evening opens at 18:00 at La Plazuela with The Anger Price. At 19:30 MFC Chicken play the Charco de San Ginés, and at 21:00 Alfredo Piedrafita takes Marina Lanzarote. The headline slot, at 22:30 on the Muelle de Cruceros, belongs to Chambao, touring their 25th-anniversary show. LAIV closes the night as DJ. Every concert is free.

There is one restriction. The stage on the Muelle de Cruceros is restricted to over-18s under the Canary Islands' rules for public events. That covers every 22:30 slot, Chambao included. Children are expressly welcome at the other three stages.

Only assistance dogs are allowed onto the cruise pier, while dogs on a lead are welcome at the other stages. Banned there are cans, glass bottles and glass containers, ceramic or aluminium containers, tupperware, cool boxes, cutlery, ice and — this really is in the house rules — fruit, which counts as a potential missile. Sandwiches and snacks are fine, as are reusable or paper cups, and there are food and drink stalls on site. Every stage has a raised viewing platform for people with reduced mobility.

Thirty concerts, or more than sixty items?

The published figures for the festival's size do not agree, and that is worth knowing. The best-supported number comes from La Voz Canaria, which reports 30 free concerts. Listings sites such as Lagenda, by contrast, describe "more than 60 items" on the programme.

The two need not be contradictory: the higher figure probably also counts shorter sets, DJ slots, street parades and side activities, while the 30 refers to full concerts. That reading is not documented, however, so we quote both numbers with their respective sources. The edition is organised by Hsmith Solutions with backing from the tourism department of Arrecife town hall, according to Diario de Lanzarote.

Genuinely free — and what is still open

Every report we consulted describes Arrecife en Vivo consistently as free and open to all. There are no tickets, no advance sale, no concessions — you simply turn up. The only spending involved is on food and drink.

Timings have since been settled. The festival's official programme page now lists the four street-parade evenings — 18 and 25 September, 2 and 9 October — stage by stage, and they all follow the same pattern: 18:00 at La Plazuela, 19:30 at the Charco de San Ginés, 21:00 at Marina Lanzarote, 22:30 at the Muelle de Cruceros, then a DJ set. For the opening on 5 September it gives 18:00 at Marina Lanzarote; for the close on 10 October at La Plazuela it gives only "a morning", with no individual times. Atlántico Hoy reports that on 9 October at 18:00 the stage at La Plazuela hosts a Canarian band selected through a professional open call, with a fee of 3,000 euros.

Tip: Plan the evening as a walk, not as a seated concert.
Comfortable shoes, a light jacket for the breeze off the water and a little cash for the stalls are all you need. If you drive in, park at the edge of the centre and cover the rest on foot: the four stages lie on a continuous pedestrian route of about two kilometres anyway.
Please note: the 22:30 stage on the Muelle de Cruceros admits over-18s only — Chambao on 25 September included. The other three stages have no age limit.
Only assistance dogs may go onto the cruise pier, and cans, glass, tupperware, cool boxes, cutlery, ice and fruit have to stay outside. The figures for the festival's scale still differ: 30 free concerts according to La Voz Canaria, "more than 60 items" according to Lagenda. For the closing day on 10 October the official programme page gives no times. Check the official channels of the festival and of Arrecife town hall before you travel.
