What can visitors expect on 18 November?

Hey Chabón play on Wednesday 18 November 2026, from 19:00 to 20:30, at the Palacete Rodríguez Quegles. The concert is part of “12 noches de autor”, or “12 nights of the singer-songwriter”, organised by the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The city's announcement lists reggae, cumbia and chacarera as the styles. It says the music joins Latin America and Africa from a contemporary angle.

The city calls the evening a “vitalist proposal that invites you to dance”. According to the announcement, energy, awareness and authenticity are at its heart.

The event page names Agustín Lapertosa on vocals and guitar. It does not list the other members of the band.

Where does the concert take place?

The concert is at the Palacete Rodríguez Quegles in the Triana district, at Calle Escritor Benito Pérez Galdós 4. The venue's phone number is +34 928 213 580.

The building is a modernista town house from the early 20th century. Domingo Rodríguez Quegles commissioned it, and the Madrid architect Mariano Belmás designed it.

Fernando Navarro y Navarro finished the project on site. The city bought the house in the 1970s.

It later housed the Conservatorio Superior de Música, regional education offices and the Academia Canaria de la Lengua. Today it is home to the city's development company, the Festival Internacional de Cine de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Sociedad Filarmónica.

The authorities have issued no travel advice. Anyone coming from the south of the island must plan their own journey there and back, as the concert ends at 20:30 according to the programme.

How much does entry cost, and do you need to book?

Entry is free. According to the city's announcement, tickets are available “until the capacity of the venue is reached”.

It does not say how to get those tickets. There is no booking route, no ticket link and no figure for the number of places.

The city names no age limit or registration requirement either. Anyone who wants to be sure should arrive early or call the venue's number beforehand.

The Palacete is the home of the series, and the city places it in the Patio del Quegles. The city has not said whether the evening moves indoors or stays outside in bad weather.

Who are Hey Chabón?

Hey Chabón come from the Canary Islands and, by their own account, have been active for about five years. The group sees its music as roots music from the Canaries for the world.

The band lists guitar, percussion, vocals and dance as its line-up. Its motto is, roughly, message, strength and rhythm.

According to the band, its discography includes the EP “PachaPapa” from 2018 and the album “Masamadre” from July 2022. It lists titles such as “Forastero”, “Buena Onda” and “Florecer”.

These details come from the band itself, and no independent reports on the concert turned up. Where in the Canaries the group is based, and who besides Lapertosa belongs to it, is not known.

What is “12 noches de autor”, and what comes next?

“12 noches de autor” is a recurring concert series for Canarian singer-songwriters. The city describes it as a monthly meeting in an intimate, close atmosphere.

The 2026 programme runs from 1 January to 31 December. All dates are Wednesday evenings from 19:00 to 20:30 and free, with the focus on attentive listening and direct exchange between artists and audience.

According to published programme summaries, earlier evenings featured Joana Cerpa on 22 April, Elena Saavedra on 20 May and David Roma on 15 July. The full list of dates and the total number of concerts are not confirmed, and the city has not named the budget or funders.

After Hey Chabón, Andrés Molina plays on Wednesday 9 December 2026, at the same time and place with free entry. The organisers are the culture department of the town hall (Ayuntamiento) and Promoción de la Ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Aladurma Producciones and Al Alba Producciones produce the series.
