Which concerts still have tickets?

The Sinfónica de Las Palmas plays its Concierto Popular de Año Nuevo on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 December 2026, each day at 18:00 and 21:00. The orchestra says these four shows sold out in record time.

Tickets remain only for Monday 28 December 2026 at 20:00. The orchestra has not said how many seats are still free.

Sales run through the website of the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus. Buy only there, not from resellers.

The orchestra gave no prices for 2026. Whether extra dates will be added is open, and there are no signs of any.

What does the concert offer visitors?

Rafael Sánchez Araña conducts the concert, and Maite Robaina leads the popular choir. The choir has almost 100 members and has spent weeks working on vocal technique and repertoire.

The programme is festive and made for singing along, adapted to the Christmas season. The exact repertoire and any soloists for 2026 have not yet been published.

The 2022 edition, the 11th, shows the direction. It featured extracts from opera and symphonic works, zarzuela (Spanish musical theatre) and Canarian songs in festive arrangements.

The organisers kept the exact repertoire secret until the day of the concert that year. Whether they will do so again in 2026 is not settled.

How big is the demand?

According to the orchestra, about 8,000 people came to the Sala Sinfónica in each of the last three years. Demand was so high that a fifth date has been added since 2023.

In 2022 the organisers already reported a full hall for four concerts from 27 to 30 December. In 2025 the 14th edition ran from 26 to 28 December in the same building, with the soprano Leonor Bonilla and the young violinist Katia Nuez.

The orchestra is a non-profit association of Canarian musicians with a choir of amateur citizens. It made its debut in May 1999 and marked 25 years in 2024 with the Carmina Burana.

According to Canarias7, the Sinfónica played the opening concert of the Starmus festival in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife on 17 October, under Stuart Morley. The New Year concert now closes its year at the Auditorio.

Where is the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus, and how do you get there?

The Auditorio Alfredo Kraus stands right on the Las Canteras seafront promenade in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The architect Oscar Tusquet designed it, and it opened in 1997.

The city-run Fundación Auditorio y Teatro de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria operates it, backed by the Ayuntamiento (city council). According to the auditorium's events page, the concert takes place in the main hall, the Sala Sinfónica.

The available information does not say how many seats the hall has. The orchestra also gives no advice on travel, parking or buses.

If you live or holiday in the south of the island, plan the journey yourself. Check journey times and bus links to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria beforehand, especially for a concert at 20:00.

What do comparable concerts cost, and what comes next?

No price is available for the 2026 New Year concert. For a rough comparison, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, a different orchestra, charged 15 euros for its concert “Músicas desde el corazón” on Friday 9 January 2026 at 20:00 in the same auditorium.

The Joven Orquesta de Canarias also gave New Year concerts, including on Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. The available information holds no data on them for 2026.

The Sinfónica's three concert days are 26, 27 and 28 December 2026. If you want to be there on Monday at 20:00, you have until the tickets sell out, as the orchestra named no deadline.
