Which Los Cristianos bars does the press name for an evening out?
The Canarian Weekly published a nightlife overview of Los Cristianos on 25 September 2024. It gives neither prices nor opening hours, and the report is over a year old, so it is unconfirmed whether every venue is still open on 2 November 2026.
Before you go, check the bar's current Google profile or Instagram page. The report describes The Vault Bar as a relaxed pub with live music and daily offers.
The Merry Monk is an English pub that turns into a cabaret bar in the evening.
The Hoops Bar is a Scottish sports pub that shows Celtic matches. The Claddagh Irish Bar serves Guinness and plays traditional Irish music.
One search result ranks the Claddagh first among Los Cristianos nightlife venues on TripAdvisor. We could not verify that ranking.
According to the Canarian Weekly, Charly Bar & Restaurant opens from breakfast until late and is known for its burgers. It is a family restaurant, better suited to dinner than to a night at the bar.
Sal Negra in San Telmo also counts as a restaurant. It offers Spanish tapas, fine wines and views of the sunset.
Where can you get cocktails in Los Cristianos?
Havana's Las Vistas is at Avenida Habana 11 in Arona, and one search result adds the address CC San Telmo 19c, 38650 Los Cristianos. The phone number is 690 08 55 65.
It is listed as a tapas restaurant with a focus on cocktails. We could not find opening hours, so guests should ask the venue beforehand.
According to the review portal GastroRanking, average spending is under 20 euros per person. The portal gives it 9.6 on Google (269 reviews) and 9.8 on TripAdvisor (91 reviews).
Guests praise the cocktail with three kinds of rum, the sangria and the sea view at sunset. GastroRanking is an aggregator, not an official source.
The Canarian Weekly calls Bar El Infierno a cocktail bar with tapas and local fish and seafood. It speaks of high-quality cocktails and unusual decor, but gives no prices.
If you want a cocktail in particular, these two venues are the best-documented names.
According to tripaligner.com, the Sol Rooftop Bar is at Avenida Ámsterdam 6 on the roof of the Klayman Olivina Aparthotel, with panoramic views over the bay (phone 922 79 60 13). Barlovento in the Mercado La Pepa, Avenida San Francisco 6, is mentioned for cocktails.
The Managua Cocktail Bar can be reached on 922 77 78 30. For wine, hopsa.io and tripaligner.com suggest Vino Vidi Vici, a wine and tapas bar with a shop selling Spanish and Canarian wines.
Vino Vidi Vici is at Calle Juan Reverón Sierra s/n, Edificio Bahía, local 4 (phone 634 09 46 21). Wine & Café, with tapas, cocktails and Belgian beers, and the Dabda Wine Bar also turn up.
How do Los Cristianos bars differ from Playa de las Américas?
A tourism text from Arona town council, quoted on hoteles.net, names Playa de las Américas as the centre of nightlife, with the Papagayo as an example. Los Cristianos is also part of Arona, but it does not appear there as a going-out district.
Anyone who wants to dance late will find more choice in the neighbouring resort. Travel portals such as Thomas Cook, Fodor's and Nomado describe Los Cristianos as quieter than Playa de las Américas.
The main strip of bars and restaurants stays lively until about midnight, but there is no concentrated club scene. These are commercial sources.
One search result also gives 22:30 to 23:00 as the time when bars start to fill. There is no official confirmation.
Guidebooks also name Rob Roys, the Casablanca Disco Bar in the San Telmo Centre, the Canarias Cocktails Bar and the North and South Bar. It is not confirmed whether these venues are still running.
The Casablanca Disco Bar is the only name with a disco link. The town's history explains the calmer picture.
According to Wikipedia, Los Cristianos has been a port since the 16th century and was officially founded in 1888 with 29 houses. A search result from Wikipedia puts the population in 1950 at just under 200.
Tourism began in 1956 with the Swede Bengt Rylander, followed by Scandinavian spa guests. Tourism grew strongly after Reina Sofía airport opened in 1978.
According to Wikipedia, the last banana harvest fell in the early 1990s, and the seafront promenade was renewed in 2008. The bars therefore grew up in a port and spa town, not in a purpose-planned nightlife district.
What rules apply to bars in Los Cristianos and Arona?
The legal basis is Canary Islands Law 7/2011 of 5 April, on public events and classified activities, which replaced Law 1/1998. Opening and closing times are set by Decree 91/2018 of 31 October, amended by Decree 34/2024 of 6 June.
We could not see the exact closing times for each type of venue, so we do not state them here. Guests are best off asking at the venue itself.
During the Covid period the Canary Islands government ordered bars and restaurants to close at 01:00 and to admit no new guests after 00:00. That rule is not considered current.
A case from 2 August 2021 shows how great the confusion was. According to the Canarian Weekly, Arona's security councillor Francisco Marichal asked the government for clarification on the hours between 00:00 and 02:00.
On 7 September 2026, according to Diario de Avisos, council technicians and the Policía Local (local police) began night-time inspections of bars in Playa de las Américas. They start at 22:00 each time and target venues that play music in the afternoon and evening.
Inspectors check whether the activity matches the licence and whether all permits are in place. According to Diario de Avisos, councillor Javier Baute said the council was responding to residents' complaints about noise and coexistence.
Arona has not yet published how many venues were inspected, how many complaints were filed or whether penalties were imposed. No comparable operation is known for Los Cristianos itself.
According to a search result, the Canarian Weekly also reports a night-time ban on parking and access in Las Verónicas in Playa de las Américas, lasting ten hours a night. The start date and exact times are unconfirmed.
According to a search result, mayor Fátima Lemes said leisure must be compatible with the rules. That includes the peace of residents.
What is still unclear about the Los Cristianos bars?
There are no confirmed drink prices for individual bars. A search result from teneriffa-news.com gives 7 to 12 euros for cocktails in Los Cristianos, with no year.
Another result without a clear source gives 8 to 14 euros for Tenerife as a whole. Neither range is a published price from a specific venue, and both show only a rough order of magnitude.
No bar has confirmed opening hours. We found no own websites or official social media profiles for the venues named.
There is also no entry from Arona town council, on webtenerife.com or in the Michelin or Repsol guides. To be safe, ask the venue shortly before your visit whether it is open and still trading.
According to the information so far, the council has not said whether Arona will extend the night inspections beyond Playa de las Américas. Nobody names a start date for any further measures either.
Anyone going out in Los Cristianos should therefore go by the known rules of Decree 91/2018 as amended in 2024 and by the notices from each venue. This overview is a guide to names, locations and atmosphere only.
Only the operators themselves can give reliable details such as opening hours and current prices. Further official information on nightlife in Arona is likely to appear through the council and the regional media, but no date is known.
