When and where is the half marathon?
The organisers’ programme gives Saturday 21 November 2026 as race day. The half marathon and the 10-kilometre race start at 20:00, and the 5-kilometre race follows five minutes later.
Some event listings instead show Tuesday 24 November. The organiser’s website does not back up that date, so 21 November looks the more likely one.
The “La Karpa” expo zone is the one confirmed location, and that is where runners collect their numbers. The organiser has not said exactly where the start and finish lie, and the route appears only in files on its website.
Top Time Eventos answers questions at coordinacion@toptime.es. That is worth a try above all for the date, the entry fees and the location details.
What does the schedule look like on 21 November?
The day opens at 10:00 with number collection, which runs until 15:00. Children run from 10:00 to 12:30 over distances of 100 to 1,600 metres, depending on age group.
In the late afternoon comes the 3-kilometre walk “Pasos x la Vida” at 17:00 and 1-kilometre night skating at 18:30. The roller children start at 19:00, and licensed roller skaters and electric wheelchairs set off over 5 kilometres at 19:10.
The expo with stalls is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, says the programme. Bouncy castles and workshops run from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.
The organiser gives no admission price for spectators. The expo looks free to enter, but that is not confirmed.
Which distances are on offer and how do you enter?
The half marathon covers 21 kilometres. There are also 10 kilometres in the “Bolaños” category and 5 kilometres in the “Taro” category, plus a 5-kilometre race for licensed roller skaters, children’s races, the 3-kilometre walk and night skating.
Some sites give the middle distance as 10.5 kilometres rather than 10. The organiser says 10 kilometres, and the other figure remains unconfirmed.
Entry is online at mediacamilo.trackingsport.com, and the programme says it has been open since mid-May. The organiser has named no registration deadline and no limit on runners.
Nobody has published the entry fee for each distance. Anyone who wants to run can check the price on the entry platform or ask by email.
Half marathon runners get a full-print XION shirt and a printed gymsack (drawstring kit bag) in their race pack. Those running 10 and 5 kilometres get the official “42K” shirt and the gymsack.
How do you get there, and what about roads and parking?
No official information on getting there, parking or road closures turned up. Neither the Ayuntamiento (town hall) of Santa Lucía de Tirajana nor the Cabildo (island government) of Gran Canaria has issued anything on the 2026 race.
The organiser offers GPX and KMZ route files to download for every distance. Anyone travelling by hire car or scheduled bus can use them to see which roads the race touches.
The main race starts at 20:00, so it runs into the evening. Drivers in the area that Saturday should allow for closures, though none is confirmed.
Who organises the race and who won in 2025?
The organiser is the Gerencia Municipal de Cultura y Deportes de Santa Lucía, S.A. Top Time Eventos runs the event, and Camilo Runners is a co-organiser.
When an earlier edition was announced in January 2024, the organisers named the Ayuntamiento, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Gobierno de Canarias (regional government) as supporters. The race is a memorial run named after mayor Camilo Sánchez, and the source says no more about that.
The 2025 race was the 17th, and the sources contradict each other on its exact date. Francisco Cabrera Galindo won the men’s half marathon in 1:10:40.
Rossana Panipucci and Davinia Déniz Ortega shared the women’s win, both in 1:35:11. Over 10 kilometres, Alberto Cabrera Hernández won in 33:56 and Iris Henríquez González in 39:48.
Over 5 kilometres, Rodrigo Nájera won in 17:02 and Jenna Melrose Jonasson in 19:48. Abel Martínez took the 5-kilometre roller race in 10:42.
What is still open before race day?
The final date, the entry fees, the registration deadline and the time limits are all unclear. Prize money, the start and finish location and the route are not publicly described either.
Only an older figure shows the size of the race: for the 2023 edition the organisers cited more than 2,400 runners. There are no participant numbers for 2024 and 2025, so no trend can be seen.
On 21 November number collection begins at 10:00, and the half marathon starts at 20:00. Until then it is worth asking the organiser whether that date is confirmed.
