When and where is the market in San Andrés?

The market opens on Saturday 7 November 2026 at 11:00 and closes at 17:00. According to the organiser, it takes place around the information box in the San Andrés neighbourhood.

San Andrés is the coastal village of the Anaga district, on the north-eastern edge of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The organisers have published nothing on getting there by bus or car.

Visitors from the south should check timetables and parking themselves beforehand. There is no official advice on either.

None of the sources gives an entry price. Earlier editions seemed to be open to all, but nobody has explicitly confirmed this for visitors.

What can you buy at the market?

Expect honey, baked goods, flowers, wine and crafts. The organisers list farming, beekeeping, crafts, baked goods and confectionery, flowers, wine growing and other food, and stalls mainly sell their own produce or products made from it.

Shops selling local products could also apply. Priority went to businesses from the Anaga massif and the coast, especially from the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

At the first edition under the current name, in November 2023, stalls sold honey, cheese, fruit and vegetables. Reports at the time say the predecessor in February 2020 offered wine from the Tacoronte-Acentejo wine region and honey from Anaga.

How many stalls will stand in 2026, the organiser has not said. The terms of participation are available as a PDF on the Sociedad de Desarrollo website.

Is there a programme for families?

The organiser has not yet confirmed a programme for 2026. Earlier editions did follow a clear pattern.

The edition on Saturday 23 November 2024 offered family areas with workshops, storytelling and traditional games. It also ran from 11:00 to 17:00, on Avenida Pedro Schwartz and Plaza Ramón Guillermo Cruz Cabrera.

On 4 November 2023, children could make kites, have their faces painted and weave baskets. There was also puppet theatre, an inflatable cow-milking game and music from Trío Atlántico, along with a parranda (spontaneous folk music).

The second edition on 18 November 2023 focused on workshops on making gofio (toasted flour), Canarian bracelets and paper octopuses. The stage hosted Canarian puppets, children’s music and a demonstration of the stick-fighting art juego del palo.

How has the market developed since 2020?

More than 6,000 people came to the predecessor, “San Andrés, la mar de bien”, on 1 February 2020, according to reports at the time. The city counted 30 stalls there, along with children’s activities and a closing concert.

The first edition under the current name ran on 4 November 2023 from 11:00 to 18:00. More than a dozen producers from the Anaga district and neighbouring areas took part.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez said in 2024 that the market showed “craftspeople who dedicate themselves daily to preserving our heritage”. At that time, free producer registration ran until 12 November at 14:00.

Reports from 2023 link the market to the urban development strategy “Anaga en el corazón”, which is said to be 85% funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). For 2026, nobody has confirmed this link.

Can traders still take part, and what comes next?

The organisers say the quota has been reached, so registration has ended. The page does not say when registration opened or closed in 2026.

Nothing is known about a waiting list. Anyone who wants to join a future edition can write to comunicacion@sociedad-desarrollo.com or to Plaza Víctimas del Terrorismo, 1, 38003 Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Self-employed people and legal entities with full legal capacity could take part. The city's development company, the Sociedad de Desarrollo de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, runs the market together with the Distrito de Anaga.

Do not confuse the market with the Anaga Biofest, which ran from 10 to 12 October in Taborno, La Laguna and Tegueste. It is a separate festival and not part of the market in San Andrés.
