What does Apple's profit mean for Tenerife?
Residents and visitors in Tenerife will not feel Apple's profit. Our research found no link between the figures and prices, rules, deadlines or closures in the Canary Islands.
There is also no information on Apple's taxes or jobs in the islands. Apple does not report Spain separately, so there are no Canary Islands sales figures.
Anyone planning to buy a device will find no reason to hurry in these numbers. Only the local retailer can give binding prices.
How did Apple end its 2026 financial year?
Apple earns 18% more than a year ago. On 2 November 2026 the company announced a net profit of 132,175 million US dollars, according to La Provincia, while revenue rose 15% to 478,834 million US dollars.
A year earlier Apple took in 416.16 billion dollars and made about 112 billion dollars net, says Constellation Research. The financial year ends in September, and in 2026 it closed on 26 September.
According to Apple and MacRumors, the first three quarters brought 143.8, 111.2 and 109.4 billion dollars in revenue. That was up 16%, 17% and 16%.
Analysts watch the fourth quarter most closely. Apple's revenue there was 114,477 million dollars, up 12%, and profit was 30,711 million dollars, also up 12%.
Where does Apple make its money?
The iPhone brings in about half of revenue, with 57,583 million dollars in the fourth quarter, writes La Provincia. Services follow with 31,573 million dollars and the Mac with 10,792 million dollars.
Accessories, home devices and wearables (devices worn on the body) made 8,300 million dollars. The iPad reached 6,229 million dollars and, according to the report, sold somewhat worse.
Gross margin stood at 47.9%, said finance chief Kevan Parekh. He put one percentage point of that down to refunds from the US government after a U-turn on tariffs.
Tariff refunds already helped profit in the third quarter, by Apple's own statement adding about 2 percentage points of margin and 0.11 dollars a share. Part of the profit growth is therefore a one-off.
What does Apple announce for the Christmas season?
Apple chief John Ternus called the year the best in the company's history. He spoke of the “most ambitious product line-up yet”.
It includes the iPhone Duo, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, a Mac with touch function and new home devices. According to La Provincia, Ternus called the iPhone Duo the “most transformative since the original”.
Shareholders receive the quarterly dividend of 0.27 dollars a share on 16 November 2026. According to La Provincia, the results largely matched expectations, and the shares rose 0.5% in after-hours trading.
At 4.937 trillion dollars in market value, Apple is the largest listed company in the world. Its shares gained 25% over the past year, but our research found no date for the next quarterly results.
Where do customers in Tenerife buy Apple products?
According to Applesfera, there is no official Apple Store in the Canary Islands. Banana Computer acts as the authorised retailer, a premium reseller.
Banana Computer has belonged to the Spanish group K-tuin (Midis Group) since 1 August 2023. It runs four shops: two in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife, in Santa Cruz and La Laguna.
The islands charge the IGIC tax instead of IVA (value added tax), which tax advice sites such as Sage and Holded put at a general 7%, against 21% IVA on the mainland. These figures do not come from the Canary Islands tax authority, and how far the gap shows in the final price is not confirmed.
