When and where does Jay Wheeler play on Tenerife?
Puerto Rican singer and producer Jay Wheeler, whose real name is José Angel López Martínez, plays the Palmetum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Friday 4 December 2026. The published programme gives a 21:00 start.
Tenerife is the first stop of the “La Voz Favorita” world tour, named after his new 24-track album. Gran Canaria follows on 5 December, though the sources do not name the venue there.
For holidaymakers in the south, the concert is in the capital, not in the beach resorts. Plan your journey home after midnight in advance.
There is no information on doors, support acts or the Palmetum’s capacity. Neither the organisers nor the city have published anything on parking, buses or access routes.
Are there still tickets for the concert?
Pre-sale opened at 11:00 Canary time on 7 October 2026, and buyers had to register at jaywheelertenerife.es. General sale began at 11:00 on 9 October.
In the pre-sale the organisers allowed a maximum of four tickets per person. Whether the concert has since sold out has not been confirmed.
The organisers have not named a price for Tenerife. The sources differ on which ticket seller is official, so jaywheelertenerife.es is the page to trust.
According to the announcement, the organisers accept the Bono Cultural (a state culture voucher) and payment by instalments. If you are registered in Spain and want to use the voucher, check the terms on the official site before buying.
What is the Bienal Contemporánea TEA?
The Bienal Contemporánea TEA is a contemporary art show. It is run by the museum TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes in Santa Cruz.
The call for entries opened on 2 December 2025 and closed on 2 January 2026. It sought artists and collectives whose projects deal with “territorio y comunidad” (territory and community).
The TEA lists the process as closed and has published the selected proposals. The project names were not visible when we researched this.
The first edition ran in 2024 under the title “La proclama herética” and ended on 12 January 2025. At the time it was open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 20:00.
When does the Bienal actually open its doors?
In its call for entries, the TEA announced a group exhibition at the museum in November 2026. Other sources instead give the period from 4 December 2026 to March 2027.
Which is correct has not been confirmed. The TEA has not yet named an opening day, opening hours, admission price or venues.
If you want to combine the concert with a museum visit, ask first: the TEA is reachable on 922 849 090 or at tea@teatenerife.es. Museum and Palmetum are both in Santa Cruz, so you could plan art by day and music by night.
What else is on at the TEA and where does the tour go next?
A show on Pepa Izquierdo, born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1945, opens at the TEA on 6 November 2026. According to the Cabildo (Tenerife’s island government), it runs until February 2027.
The painter shows still lifes, interiors, roof terraces and portraits of women. According to the TEA, her work is closer to poetic realism than to hyperrealism.
After Tenerife and Gran Canaria, Jay Wheeler plays Málaga on 7 December, Valencia on 8 December, Bilbao on 10 December, Madrid on 13 December and Barcelona on 19 December, according to the organisers. The USA and Latin America follow in 2027.
For Tenerife, the price, door time, travel and the Bienal date remain open. Until then, only jaywheelertenerife.es and the TEA itself are reliable.
