What changes for holidaymakers and residents?
For most holidaymakers and residents in the resorts of southern La Gomera, practically nothing changes.
Anyone out and about in San Sebastián de La Gomera on Thursday evening, 12 November 2026, may notice the specialists’ reception.
Where and when exactly does the event take place?
The opening on Thursday 12 November 2026 runs from 19:00 to 21:30 in San Sebastián de La Gomera. According to the Universidad de La Laguna programme, the “Vitivinicultura Sostenible 2026” award will be presented there.
Friday 13 November 2026 is tightly packed: accreditation, talks, conversations with speakers, a round table, a lunch buffet and a wine masterclass. The programme runs from about 08:10 to 19:30.
On Saturday 14 November 2026, an international forum for scientific papers and a closing session follow from 08:30 to 14:00. A wine tasting and aperitif bring the days to a close.
The official La Gomera tourism calendar does not yet list the conference with a full programme. The Cabildo Insular de La Gomera names only La Gomera in general as the venue.
Who organises the conference?
The 3rd Jornadas Técnicas Internacionales de Vitivinicultura Sostenible is organised by the Cátedra de Agroturismo y Enoturismo de Canarias. It belongs to the Instituto Canario de Calidad Agroalimentaria (ICCA) and the Universidad de La Laguna (ULL).
The Cabildo Insular de La Gomera announced the event on 21 July 2026 through its agriculture, livestock and fisheries department. Specialists are expected from La Gomera, other parts of Spain and abroad.
How do participants get to the event?
Participants are expected to travel by bus between Plaza de Las Américas, the venue, the port and the airport. According to the Universidad de La Laguna programme, prior reservation is required for the outward journey.
Anyone not attending the conference can ignore these buses.
How much does participation cost?
Registration is open; reduced early-bird rates applied until 31 August, followed by the standard rate; discounts for locals, students, researchers and women.
Fees in euros have not yet been confirmed by the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera or the Universidad de La Laguna. Anyone wishing to attend must wait for further details from the organisers.
What is still open?
The exact venue, the start times of individual programme items and the registration process remain open. Costs, travel information and possible access rules are also unconfirmed.
So far only the period from 12 to 14 November 2026 is reliable. Further details must be published by the Cabildo, the official events calendar or the organisers.
