When and where is Caffest in Las Palmas?

Caffest Gran Canaria opens on Friday 27 November 2026 from 16:00 to 20:00, says the organiser. On Saturday 28 November it is open from 10:00 to 20:00.

The venue is the Alameda de Colón in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, postcode 35002. It is a public waterside promenade with gardens, close to the Vegueta and Triana districts.

The organiser's page lists entry as free. Nobody has yet published advice on getting there from the south, or on buses and parking.

What is there to see, drink and buy?

The organisers describe the tour as a fair that combines young talent, specialty coffee, regional food, technology and culture. They call it the “biggest” start-up fair, a claim that cannot be checked.

Exhibitors are planned, since firms can join through a form. The organiser has not named any exhibitors, given a number of stalls or said what will be sold.

Research found no programme, speakers or workshop plan for Las Palmas. In Tenerife there were tastings, latte art and cupping workshops, live music, cooking demonstrations and local shops.

Whether Las Palmas will follow that pattern is not confirmed. Anyone hoping to buy coffee or souvenirs should ask the organiser beforehand.

How did the premiere in Tenerife go?

The first Caffest ran on Saturday 28 March 2026. It was held at the Castillo in San Cristóbal de La Laguna.

According to the organisers, more than 7,000 visitors came and over 600 litres of coffee were served. Caffest says the workshop places sold out in 20 minutes.

These are the organisers' own figures. They have not been independently checked.

On the Caffest website, general entry is free, while workshops have limited places and need registration. Such a system is not confirmed for Gran Canaria.

Who organises Caffest, and what does the number 30 mean?

The organiser is 360 The Circular Agency & Social Media SL, trading as CanariasUp. It is a private agency, and the contact address is info@canariasup.com.

The organiser's page for Las Palmas gives a maximum of 30 participants. That looks small for an open-air festival, and it is unclear whether it means total visitors, visitors per time slot or exhibitors.

For El Hierro, the listing gives 30 places with online registration. Whether the same model applies in Las Palmas is not confirmed.

Research found no permit or road closure from the Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (the city council). No public funding or budget for the Gran Canaria edition is known either.

How can firms take part, and where does the tour go next?

Firms fill in a form on the sponsors and participation page, says the organiser. The page gives no fees and no deadline.

Caffest offers sponsors exhibition space, access to the coffee community and media exposure. The organiser has not published prices.

The tour has seven new Caffest events, one on each island. Only El Hierro has dates so far: Friday 4 December 2026 from 16:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 5 December from 10:00 to 20:00 at the Centro Cultural de Frontera.

There are no dates for the other islands. Even El Hierro has no detailed programme yet.

What does Gran Canaria have to do with specialty coffee?

According to a government statement, the only commercial coffee in Spain and the EU grows in the Agaete valley. It is Coffea arabica Typica, grown at 150 to 550 metres above sea level.

On 6 August 2026 the Gobierno de Canarias (the Canarian regional government) sent an application for a protected geographical indication, “IGP Café de Agaete”, to the European Commission. The applicants are Agroagaete and the Ayuntamiento de Agaete, and the national phase ended without objections.

The Commission has up to six months to examine it. Publication in the EU Official Journal and a three-month objection period then follow, and final registration is not expected before mid-2027.

Volumes remain small: at the Finca La Laja, Infoagro puts output at 1,500 to 2,000 kilograms a year. The organiser has not said whether Agaete coffee will be served in Las Palmas.
