What is on in Moya from 5 to 7 November?

The Villa de Moya in the north of Gran Canaria hosts the Festival Fantástico y de Terror from 5 to 7 November 2026. The Ayuntamiento (town council) promises storytelling, cinema and interactive experiences across four venues.

The opening comes on Thursday 5 November at 18:00 in the municipal library. There, “Cuentos Fantásticos” is a storytelling hour for the whole family, free of charge with limited places.

At 18:00 the Espacio Joven (youth centre) also opens for a cinema afternoon with chocolate and roscas, a type of pastry. Young people aged 12 to 30 are invited.

On Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November the more intense events begin at 19:00. The escape room “El Caserío” is in the Parque Pico Lomito, and the horror experience “Proyecto Insomnia” is in the Casa de la Cultura.

What do the escape room and horror experience cost, and how do you book?

According to the Ayuntamiento, the escape room and “Proyecto Insomnia” cost €3 each. Entry is limited, and the council does not recommend either for children under 12.

Tickets and programme information are available through the Moya Espacio Joven app and the tureservaonline.es platform. Visitors from further afield should book early, before the places run out.

The council has not named a registration deadline. It is also unclear whether the free events require a reservation, because the council only speaks of limited places.

The town hall answers questions on tel. (+34) 928 61 12 55 or by email at web@villademoya.es. It is at Calle Miguel Hernández 13, 35420 Moya, and its website gives opening hours of Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 14:00.

How do you get to Moya, and who pays for the programme?

Moya lies in the north of Gran Canaria, and the venues are the library, the Espacio Joven, the Parque Pico Lomito and the Casa de la Cultura. The park and the cultural centre are both in the town.

The council has published nothing on parking, scheduled buses (guaguas) or shuttles. Visitors from the south of the island must therefore plan their own journey.

At the 2017 festival, the ticket included transport to the venues, according to Canarias7. The announcement does not say whether that applies again.

The council reports that the Consejería de Presidencia y Movilidad Sostenible of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria (island government) supports the festival. The subsidy is meant for activities that promote community life, and its amount has not been published.

How has the festival developed since 2006?

The festival began in 2006, according to NorteGranCanaria. Back then, young people from Moya and the Concejalía de Juventud (youth department) staged the first “Casa del Terror”.

The event has had its current festival format since 2012. NorteGranCanaria calls it one of the most eagerly awaited events for the town’s young people.

On 2 November 2017, Canarias7 described a programme running from 3 to 10 November. The children’s route for ages 5 to 11, accompanied by adults, ran from 19:00 to 20:30.

In 2019 the festival ran from 15 to 17 November, according to NorteGranCanaria. Children’s shows cost €3 and adult shows €5, and a Terror Party with a DJ took place in the Pico Lomito amphitheatre.

The festival now runs for three days, with a flat price of €3 for the escape room and the horror experience. The sources give no reasons for the changes, and no visitor numbers for earlier editions are available.

What is still unclear, and what happens next?

The council has not named any films for the cinema afternoon on 5 November. The number of places for each event is missing as well.

The Isla Calavera festival in La Laguna on Tenerife runs from 6 to 15 November and is a separate event. The sources show no link to Moya.

On Sunday 1 November, four days remain until the opening. Until then, the town hall can be reached Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 14:00.
