What can visitors expect at the wine festival?
Eight wineries from Gran Canaria will present their wines and grape varieties in Tejeda on 1 November 2026. The Canarias7 and La Provincia reports do not name all eight bodegas.
The event runs from 13:00 to 21:00 on the Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Socorro. Visitors can taste the wines on site, and the organisers provide an official glass as a keepsake.
What food is available?
According to Canarias7, four providers are in charge of the food: Germán Domínguez Marrero, Ibéricos en Canarias by Geovanny Almanza, La Jícara Tasca and Quesería El Manjar de Tejeda. They pair local products with the island's wines.
The sources do not give a price for the official glass, individual tastings or the food. The payment system for the tastings also remains unclear.
How does the Duelo de Copas competition work?
The Duelo de Copas blind tasting starts at 12:30 at the Plaza Mirador del Ayuntamiento. 18 couples test their sense of smell and palate without knowing which wines they are trying.
Participation is free and open to people with no previous experience. Six finalist couples go through from the first round, and the final starts at 16:00 with three prizes for the best couples.
What music is planned?
A Canarian parranda opens the music programme at 13:30. At 16:30, Abraham Ramos and Cristóbal Montesdeoca perform with timple and piano.
From 19:00, the group Guarasón brings Cuban-influenced music to the plaza. Children's entertainment and games are also announced for the afternoon.
What do visitors from the south need to know?
The same conditions apply to residents, foreign residents and tourists: access to the festival is free and no booking is needed. Only the blind tasting has limited places.
The reports do not give a specific registration deadline, registration point or participation requirement for the Duelo de Copas. No traffic changes, road closures or parking rules have been published either.
What is still open?
The wine festival closes a programme of five Fridays focused on wine education. Further dates or changes are expected to appear on the official Tejeda en Copa website.
The researched material does not include a specific URL or an update date. The budget, subsidies or special public transport are also not mentioned.
