What can you see and hear on Saturday 7 November?

The fair runs from 10:00 to 21:00 on Saturday 7 November. The stalls stand on the Plaza de Las Américas in the island capital, San Sebastián de La Gomera.

The day starts early. At 11:00 the radio station Onda Tagoror broadcasts live from the fair, and at 11:30 a workshop and games with mats begin for children.

At 12:30 the Coros y Danzas de La Gomera perform, the island’s choirs and dance groups. After that there is time to browse until the afternoon programme begins.

At 16:30 the folk group Chácaras y Tambores takes the stage. It is their second appearance, after Friday.

At 17:00 there is a beer tasting, organised by the Alimentos de La Gomera quality label. The group Hijos del Silbo plays at 18:30, and the day ends at 21:00.

What do the stalls sell, and what is there to eat?

54 craft stalls show what the islands make, from basketry to blacksmithing. Visitors will find work in palm and cane, pottery and ceramics, traditional carpentry, jewellery and leather goods.

Canarian knives, hats, candles, soap and macramé are also on sale. Woodcarving, forging, furniture restoration and upholstery complete the list.

One stall makes musical instruments. The details about the fair do not say whether it makes drums, only that it makes musical instruments in general.

According to the details, the best souvenirs are things made on the island, such as cloth dolls, candles, soap or pieces from recycled materials. The Cabildo (island government) has not published prices for individual items.

In the food area, about 15 sellers from La Gomera and other islands offer their goods. There is cheese, honey, mojos (Canarian sauces), jams, chocolate, gofio (toasted flour), juices, coffee and craft beer.

What does entry cost, and how do you get there?

The Cabildo had named no entry price by Saturday. So it remains unconfirmed whether the fair is free.

The Plaza de Las Américas lies in the centre of San Sebastián de La Gomera, the island capital. There is no travel or parking advice, so it is best to ask the island government beforehand.

The details also do not say whether the stalls are covered. If rain is forecast, dress for the weather.

A full day out is possible on Saturday. The programme runs from 10:00 to 21:00.

Who is behind the fair, and what happens next?

The Cabildo de La Gomera organises the fair, and its president is Casimiro Curbelo. At the opening he said the fair is a place to honour the craftspeople’s knowledge and pass it on across generations.

Cristina Ventura, the island councillor for crafts, praised the high turnout and the variety of trades. In her words, the fair brings together tradition and new designs.

For comparison, the 2025 edition ran from 7 to 9 November at the same place, with 63 participants, including 50 craftspeople and 13 food sellers. The 2026 figures count stalls rather than participants, so a direct comparison is uncertain.

The Cabildo has not yet published a date for 2027. According to the plan, the fair closes on Sunday 8 November at 17:00.
