When and where is “23 Grados Jazz” in Morro Jable?
A jazz night starts at 19:00 on Saturday 28 November 2026 on the Plaza de los Mantequillas in Morro Jable. The Fuerteventura Zeitung reports it, and the town belongs to the municipality of Pájara in the south of the island.
The Plunger Dixie Band is due to kick things off before the first concert. According to the Fuerteventura Zeitung, it parades through the streets of Morro Jable and ends on the plaza.
The stage programme with three acts follows. The organisers promise several musical surprises between sets, but the report gave no details.
The organisers include the municipality of Pájara and the Asociación Musical del Municipio de Pájara (the municipality’s music association). In Spanish the council is called the Ayuntamiento, the local town hall.
Which bands are playing?
The quintet Das Pulpo opens the evening. This local group plays classic jazz and international hits in swing arrangements.
The Gran Canaria Big Band is the second act. The Fuerteventura Zeitung calls it one of the most renowned and long-established big bands in Spain, one that has worked with national and international artists.
The Fuerteventura Big Band presents its project “Her Voice, Her Jazz”. It centres on the singers Alejandra Batista and Marey Calero, and the programme moves through swing, Latin jazz and other styles.
The source gave no exact times for the individual sets. Anyone who wants to hear all three bands should arrive shortly after 19:00.
What should visitors know before the evening?
Entry is free, according to the Fuerteventura Zeitung. The report mentions no registration or ticket, so none is known to be required.
Many practical questions remain open. There is no information so far on getting there, parking, possible closures for the parade or a plan for bad weather.
Anyone who wants to be sure should check the Pájara council’s channels before the evening. No official announcement from the council or the Cabildo (the island government) turned up so far, so the programme rests on a single report.
Where does the name come from, and how did the first edition go?
The festival began in 2025, and its name nods to Fuerteventura’s average annual temperature of around 23 degrees. According to the Fuerteventura Zeitung, the evening aims to bring jazz to a wide audience and enrich cultural life in Morro Jable.
The first edition ran on Saturday 29 November 2025 at 19:00 on the same square, next to the Ermita de San Miguel, according to the Ayuntamiento de Pájara. Calle 17, the Casual Combo Big Band and the Fuerteventura Big Band played, and entry was free.
The Fuerteventura Big Band organised the 2025 evening, and the council supported and sponsored it. Mayor Alejandro Jorge named the goal as an annual event that brings jazz to residents and livens up the centre of Morro Jable.
The council’s culture department said the mild climate makes music and culture possible outdoors all year round. Of the first edition’s groups, the Fuerteventura Big Band and the Plunger Dixie Band return in 2026.
What is still unclear, and what comes next?
So far only the Fuerteventura Zeitung confirms the 2026 edition. The evening did not appear at first in the event listings of visitfuerteventura.com and hellocanaryislands.com, as far as the search extracts reviewed show.
There is no information on costs, council funding or visitor numbers. The council named no sum in 2025 either, so comparing attendance between the years is not possible.
The next fixed date is 28 November 2026 at 19:00. Anyone on holiday in Jandía should check the council channels when planning that Saturday evening.
