What can visitors expect in La Esperanza on 7 November?
For twelve hours on Saturday 7 November 2026, the centre of La Esperanza becomes a festival street. The fair opens at 11:00 and closes at 23:00.
It spreads over two squares, the Plaza del Adelantado and the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The Ayuntamiento (town council) of El Rosario is organising it for the ninth time.
Visitors can taste local produce: gofio (toasted grain flour), honey, cider, cheese and wine. There are also tapas stalls and an area for local businesses.
The Panadería Pastelería Zulay puts on a cooking show. Children can join activities, including cookery workshops.
Which contests and music are planned?
The “Raíces” tapas contest enters its third round. Chefs and home bakers also compete in dessert and tortilla contests.
The bands Macacos, Xenials and Ni 1 pelo de Tonto play live on stage. The afternoon goes by the name “Tardeo”, with Sergio Melián, Guachipandixie and Ángel Truss.
There are also Latin American dance displays and flamenco. Those who prefer to listen can find the programme of the municipal radio.
The seventh citizens’ forum on public participation also takes place. A “Punto Violeta” (a help point against violence, details not given) is planned as well.
What does a visit cost, and what is unclear?
The announcement gives no entry price. It does not mention booking either.
Egatesa sponsors free tapas, but how many and until when has not been published. The prices of tapas and drinks and the number of stalls are not known either.
There is no information on parking, TITSA buses (the island bus company) or possible road closures in the town. Visitors should ask the Ayuntamiento de El Rosario and allow plenty of time.
We did not check a forecast from AEMET, the national weather service. La Esperanza lies about 900 metres above sea level, according to Wikipedia, and is often cooler than the coast.
How was the fair in previous years?
The sixth edition took place on 4 November 2023 on the Plaza del Adelantado. It ran from 11:00 until after midnight.
Tenerife Weekly reported “thousands” of residents and visitors but gave no figure. Dozens of restaurateurs served their most representative tapas, and long queues formed at a stall with an Argentine grill.
Farmers sold their own produce, and there were cookery workshops, ham carving and children’s activities. Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto closed the day, and the sponsors were Montesano, Egatesa and El Gusto por el Vino.
For 2024, an events calendar lists an edition on 9 November, by its own account, which is unconfirmed. Whether a fair took place in 2025 could not be established.
How do you get to La Esperanza, and what else is there?
La Esperanza is the administrative seat of the municipality of El Rosario in north-east Tenerife. According to Wikipedia, the municipality had about 17,960 residents in 2025.
The coastal village of Radazul also belongs to the municipality. The German School of Santa Cruz de Tenerife stands in Tabaita Alta, within the municipal area.
The fair has nothing to do with the Romería de la Esperanza, a pilgrimage on the first Sunday in August. “Saborea Lanzarote” in Teguise is a different festival too.
There is no official travel advice. Anyone coming from the south should allow generous time for the drive.
