Which routes does Binter Canarias fly?

Binter says it connects all Canary Islands airports with daily services. The eight islands listed are El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

For the Spanish mainland and the Balearic Islands, the Binter press kit names these destinations: Vigo, A Coruña, Asturias/Oviedo, Santander, San Sebastián, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Murcia, Badajoz, Córdoba, Jerez, Granada, Almería, Logroño, Vitoria, Mallorca and Menorca.

Binter has served Madrid since 2024 with 16 daily frequencies: eight direct from Gran Canaria and eight direct from Tenerife North. Connections from other Canary Islands are included, according to Binter.

The exact departure island for each individual mainland and Balearic route is not confirmed for all destinations in the available material. Frequencies and seasonal status for winter 2026/27 are also not fully published.

Which international destinations does Binter fly to?

In Morocco, the Binter press kit confirms the destinations Agadir, Guelmim, El Aaiún and Dakhla. All four are served from Gran Canaria; Guelmim is additionally listed from Lanzarote.

In Mauritania, Binter flies to Nouakchott, in Senegal to Dakar and in Cape Verde to Sal. Gran Canaria is confirmed as the departure airport for all three destinations. Frequencies and flight times are not confirmed in the available material.

For the 2025 programme, eight weekly flights from Gran Canaria were confirmed in July and August, and from Tenerife North on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Binter flies to Ponta Delgada in the Azores. A direct flight from Tenerife North was announced for July to October; Binter also promotes connections from every Canary Island with free inter-island connections. A start date for 2026 is not confirmed.

How does the 75% resident discount work?

The resident discount is a subsidy from the Spanish government and not a separate Binter discount. For eligible residents, it amounts to 75% off the regular fare on qualifying flights.

The discount applies to inter-island flights within the Canary Islands and to flights between the Canary Islands and the Spanish mainland. A connection may also qualify if it is legally considered a direct journey, including stopovers of no more than 12 hours except for technical reasons or force majeure.

For flights between the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, as well as for international destinations such as Morocco, Madeira, Cape Verde and the Azores, application of the discount is not confirmed in the available material.

The discount applies to the eligible fare component. Taxes, airport charges, fees and optional services may still be payable. An annual limit on the number of qualifying flights is not confirmed.

Who is entitled to the resident discount?

Eligible passengers include Spanish citizens resident in the Canary Islands, as well as citizens of other EU states, the European Economic Area or Switzerland who establish residence in the Canary Islands.

Certain non-EU citizens with a qualifying Spanish residence status may also be eligible, for example with a residence card as a family member of an EU citizen, with long-term or permanent residence, or with asylum or subsidiary protection.

A non-Spanish EU citizen normally uses the Certificado de Registro de Ciudadano de la Unión (registration certificate for EU citizens) together with a valid passport or identity card. An eligible non-EU citizen needs a valid TIE or residence card with the qualifying status.

Whether a mere NIE number proves entitlement is not confirmed. Binter requires the valid residence document or residence status in each case, not just an NIE number.

Which documents do I need at check-in?

If the electronic residence check is not confirmed, passengers should carry a valid DNI, passport or an NIE or residence document, according to Binter.

In addition, a municipal certificado de empadronamiento (municipal registration certificate) in the prescribed travel format may be required, the so-called certificado de viajes. For eligible foreign nationals, the EU registration certificate or the qualifying residence card applies.

A Spanish child under 14 without a DNI may use the municipal registration certificate under the current rules. The term certificado de residencia is used colloquially; legally relevant is the municipal registration certificate, provided the residence has not been verified electronically.

Binter points out that residence may be checked at ticketing, check-in and at the gate. Online check-in does not remove the obligation to prove residence at the airport if requested.

What is known about luggage and fares?

The available sources do not confirm any Binter fare names, free luggage allowances or luggage prices for 2026. Hand luggage dimensions, sports luggage prices and pet transport rules are also not confirmed.

Binter operates from Madrid-Barajas Airport Terminal 2. At Gran Canaria Airport, the Binter check-in is on floor 1, zone A, desks 1 to 6.

At Tenerife North Airport, the Binter check-in is on the ground floor, and at La Palma Airport on floor 0.

Aena notes that oversized or unusually shaped luggage such as bicycles, golf equipment and large musical instruments may require separate handling at special baggage belts. The applicable conditions of carriage and prices should be clarified with the airline.
