What is on in Valverde on 7 November?
Entry is free until the hall is full, according to the Ayuntamiento (town council) of Valverde. The announcement mentions neither booking nor a ticket desk.
The show is the family ballet “La danza y los peques”, on Saturday 7 November 2026 at 18:00 at the Teatro Asabanos. The Ballets de Tenerife, Compañía Miguel Navarro, take the stage.
The council advises people to arrive early because seats are limited. It did not say how many seats the theatre has.
Who is the show for?
The council recommends the ballet for children aged three and over. It aims to introduce the little ones to dance through music and movement.
The announcement calls it a first taste of stage dance that the whole family enjoys together. The council has not published the running time, so families with small children should allow some spare time.
Culture councillor Juan Pedro Sánchez says children should be able to see dance live from an early age. Mayor Carlos Brito stresses that free events at the theatre make it easier for more families to spend the evening together.
Do holidaymakers in the south need to know anything?
Not really: this is an invitation to families, and visitors in the southern resorts of the other islands will not be affected. Valverde council simply offers a free evening.
Anyone on El Hierro on 7 November needs no ticket and pays no fee, according to the announcement. The council names no restriction to local residents.
The show starts at 18:00, so anyone who wants a sure seat should come earlier. The council has published nothing on directions, parking or bus services (guagua).
Who is on stage and what will they perform?
The Ballets de Tenerife perform as Compañía Miguel Navarro. According to earlier event listings, Miguel Navarro, founder and general director of the Ballets de Tenerife, designed the children’s programme.
Earlier listings name two short, educational pieces, “Pedro y el Lobo” and “Metamorfosis”. Whether the same pieces run on Saturday is not confirmed.
One event listing says the show was already on the programme in Valverde on 19 October 2024. A similar show is listed for Tenerife under the title “Dance and the Little Ones”, and how often it has run on El Hierro remains unclear.
What questions remain open?
Even the venue's name is unclear, so a call to the council before you set off would settle it. The 2026 announcement speaks of the Teatro Asabanos, while earlier listings mention the Centro Cultural Asabanos, and we could not check whether it is the same building.
Running time, hall size and booking rules are not published. No further dates for the show on El Hierro are known.
According to programme listings, Asabanos regularly stages family shows. Titles include “Alice’s Tea Party”, “El Ratoncito Pérez y el Hada de los Dientes” and the circus festival “Circanario”, which the Ayuntamiento de Valverde organises.
Reference works describe Valverde as the island capital and the only capital in the Canary Islands without a coastline. At 103.65 square kilometres, its municipality is the largest on the island.
