All events in December 2026 — Canary Islands

What defines the month

December in the Canary Islands combines Christmas programming with sport and music. Tenerife and Fuerteventura hold the largest number of events, including the festive programme in Garachico, several Auditorio de Tenerife concerts and the Escuela Insular de Música Christmas concerts in Pájara, La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario and Tuineje. Lanzarote opens the month with the closing of its literature festival and the international marathon in Puerto del Carmen.

The end of the month is marked by New Year's Eve events and popular races. Arrecife, Los Llanos de Aridane and Breña Alta hold San Silvestre or open water events on 31 December, while La Frontera in El Hierro and Fuerteventura celebrate the end of the year. Gran Canaria contributes a pilgrimage in Santa Lucía de Tirajana and a concert in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
